Getting Market Ready

As the weekend draws near so does my first day at the local craft market.  Early Saturday morning I’ll go down to market square, try and get a space and set up my wares.  As always, I’m far too worried about making my spot look esthetically pleasing, so I’ve been crafting away display stuff.

A couple weeks ago on Threadbanger there was an episode about vinyl wall decals.  The website also offered a couple of wall decal ideas outside of the video and I thought one of them was especially beautiful.  Rather than planting it on my walls I decided to stencil it on my newest table cloth.  I also decided to make my own “banner” rather than investing dollars into having one made (the ultimate curse of the crafty – the complete unwillingness to pay another to do something that we could possibly learn to do).

Anywho, I thought I would share some photos of the new table and some ideas of how it will be set.  I’ll be sure to take some photos this weekend as well.

I’ve ravaged a couple of containers of clothing that I’ve had for a while and turned them into something a little more interesting.

I’m thinking that I will be adding these to my site, but I have to take some time to consider pricing and such.  These may also show up on Etsy.

Here are some of the pieces that I really dig.  Soon I’ll be sharing some of the men’s pieces that I’ve been working on.

I thought it was about time that I played around with journalling again.  I decided not to dive in head first into day planners and such.  Instead I went the blank notebook route.  I bought up a couple packs of 100% recycled paper, some old records and kids books.

The result is some serious cuteness.  Check it out…

I’ve been doing some softie crafting lately; some good and some bad.  I printed up another yard or so of robots and kokeshi tonight.

Here’s a sneak peek at some of the better dolls.  The robot is still a little pointy for my liking, but I’ll see what I can do about that.

I found some time today to sand down and then photograph some of the resin belt buckles I’ve been working on.  I thought I would take some time to share my new pieces with the big ol’ world.  If you’d like to check out an album of photos you can click here.

Here’s a few of my favourite samples:

Last night I did my prelimiary prints with my new screens.  For the most part things turned out nicely.  I had to do a few touch ups with my handy-dandy nail polish.

I’m intending to use the kokeshi dolls and and the robots to create some super cute stuffies.  We’ll see how that goes.  The smaller graphics are for clothing and journal covers.

Weekend Crafting…

I’m wrapping up yet another weekend full of glorious crafting.  I’m taking another stab at screenprinting.  I’ve avoided this particular craft for quite some time now.  I’m not fantastic at the preperation process, but I’ve sought out some expert advice on coating screens and such and I think I’ve done alright (who knows for sure?!).

Yesterday morning I hosted my second Resin Casting Workshop at Made 4 You.  It was a smaller group this time which worked well for organizational purposes.  It was also nice to have a timer right off the bat.

I spent last night cutting out pieces for some new resin belt buckles and serging new yoga pants.  Exciting stuff for a Saturday evening I know!

Anywho, almost time to start a new week.  Here we go…
