Deepika Padukone, the daughter of former badminton Champion Prakash Padukone hails from Karnataka. Deepika was much fortunate to opposite the ‘King Khan’ Shah Rukh in his Om Shanti Om which was a hit film in bollywood. She made her debut in a Kannada movie named Aishwarya.

For the recent few films, Akshay Kumar has had Katrina Kaif as his successful pair and now it is Deepika to join his hands for Chandni Chowk To China. This Jodi(pair) is no doubt a ‘hot pair’ for now, but only the success of the movie will decide if they can be seen doing more films together in future.

Synopsis

Ranvir (Saif Ali Khan) and Rajiv (Akshaye Khanna) are half brothers who own a huge stud farm in Durban, South Africa. They breed horses on their huge ranch house and are also renowned to be the biggest bookies in the horse racing circuit. Ranvir, the elder of the two is known to be a very shrewd man. He is very aggressive, and is always on the move. His half brother Rajiv, on the other hand, is extremely laid back, and is also a chronic alcoholic. Sophia (Katrina Kaif) is Ranvir’s personal secretary. She adores her boss and loves him. However, Ranvir is totally unaware of her feelings for him and regards her adoration as her efficiency. Shaina (Bipasha Basu) is an upcoming Indian ramp model in Durban. She and Ranvir share a very beautiful relationship, which is just on the borderline of love.

Shaina is in love with Ranvir but through a twist of fate gets married to his younger brother, Rajiv. When she discovers that Rajiv is a chronic alcoholic, her world is shattered. Ranvir too is disturbed as he had sacrificed his love for his younger brother because Rajiv had promised him that if he gets married to Shaina, he will leave alcohol forever. Rajiv, after getting married breaks his promise and the story starts getting complicated. In a weak moment Ranvir and Shaina come very close to each other, and an affair starts between the two. When Rajiv starts suspecting his wife, all hell breaks loose! A murder is committed, a contract killing is issued, double crossing becomes the order of the day and betrayals are executed at the blink of an eye!

A sharp tongued detective R.D., getting wise on the proceedings, starts an intriguing investigation with his brainless assistant Mini (Sameera Reddy) and the story starts to move at a breakneck speed, full of unexpected twists….

Race is Abbas-Mustan’s most accomplished work. There is nothing new in the story line. The story moves in a serpentine manner, there’s a twist every fifteen minutes and it’s impossible to guess what the culmination would be. The girls involved are sometimes as confused as the viewer mean when did Bipasha Basu (Sonia) hatch the plan with Saif Ali Khan (Ranvir Singh) to knock off younger brother Akshaye Khanna (Rajiv Singh)? And what is the Katrina Kaif (Sophia) angle? Director duo Abbas Mastan, despite having over two-and-a-half hours at their disposal fail to throw convincing light on her role with both the brothers, especially Akshaye. Katrina has clearly been wasted.

Embittered because the entire estate is in his elder brother’s name, he hatches a plan to kill him and claim the insurance money apart from the other businesses. He ropes in Bipasha Basu for this heinous crime. However, it turns out that Bipasha was already roped in by Ranvir.

Even though the plot is convoluted, the movie will work because there is a hidden star who will never be highlighted. His name is Allan Amin, the action director. The action is top class and slickly executed which gives the movie the edge in the absence of a tight script.

Every actor in Race puts his/her best foot forward. Saif is solid as an actor; looks, style, dialogue delivery – the entire package. Akshaye gets into the NAQAAB mode quite often, while Bipasha Basu is quite the temptress with her role reversal. Anil Kapoor delivers his due but has not much meat in his role.

Dialogues are excellent. Styling is superb. Background score has the international feel. Choreography is top class.

In nutshell the movie is especially good for them who are action addict. Race is a superb entertainer all the way. It’s not just style, it has substance as well. Even the camera work by Ravi Yadav is top class.

Synopsis U Me Aur Hum is a love story between Ajay (Ajay Devgan) and Pia (Kajol).

The first time Ajay saw Pia, she served him drinks. It was love at first sight and Ajay knew he had discovered true love. In spite of being a leading psychiatrist, he knew it was too early but he had fallen in love and he wanted her forever. But the first time Pia saw Ajay, he had too much to drink. She watched him make a fool of himself, and was relieved when he passed out. She was a woman who followed her heart, but despite his claims of true love; she had made up her mind. Ajay by sheer perseverance danced his way into her heart and they fell in love. In time, the couple developed a special bond. With no doubt in their minds about the way they felt for each other, they rushed into marriage (despite the advice and proof of failing relationships of their friends). Their marriage flourishes, but like everyone, they too have to overcome hurdles, some of which seem insurmountable. But even as things get worse, and sometimes unsolvable, Ajay and Pia don’t give up! Ajay Devgan delivered a superb effort in his directorial debut, U Me Aur Hum. This movie is not about you or me; it’s about Hum as a couple! It’s a very sensible film, which deals with a very, very sensitive aspect of married life – commitment. The tagline is apt: “The greatest journey in life is the distance between two people.” How well Ajay (Ajay Devgan) makes you travel this journey with him and Peeya (Kajol).

Ajay and Peeya meet on a cruise. She is a waitress, while he is a psychiatrist on a holiday with his friends. The first time Ajay [Ajay Devgan] saw Peeya [Kajol], she served him drinks. She affected him more than the alcohol, it was love at first sight. The first time Peeya saw Ajay, he had a drink too many. She watched him make a fool of himself and was relieved when he passed out.

Ajay is on a cruise with his friends — Nikhil [Sumeet Raghavan] and Reena [Divya Dutta], unhappily married, and Vicky [Karan Khanna] and Natasha [Isha Sharwani], happily unmarried. Ajay is having a wonderful time dealing with martial strife, lots of bad language and huge hangovers, when he finds Peeya and time stands still.

After a disastrous first meeting, Ajay tries everything to woo her. He wants her, by hook, crook or even her little private notebook. She’s not an easy catch at all, but finally, by sheer perseverance, he dances his way into her heart. Ajay and Peeya develop a strong and special bond.

Happy marriages begin when we marry the ones we love, and they blossom when we love the ones we marry. And Ajay-Peeya love each other dearly, but no marriages can be complete without problems, and Ajay and Peeya have also have to face hurdles. Kajol is diagnosed with Alzheimer’s. How does the couple face the crisis?

Kajol is first rate. This is an actor here with the Midas touch. She makes acting look like child’s play. As the young girl who falls in love with Ajay, she is simply ravishing; as the doting wife, she is awesome and when tragedy strikes, her confusion is alarmingly clear. This is not to undermine Ajay Devgan who comes up with a reassuring performance; be it as the lover boy romancing Kajol or as the husband who refuses to leave her side.

The one thing you must carry when you set out to watch U ME AUR HUM is a handkerchief. For, this film makes you shed a tear at times, cry at places and weep in at least two vital sequences when Ajay leaves Kajol in the care of a hospital for good, and another when he goes to get her back, against his doctor’s advise. Both actors sizzle the screen with their chemistry, be it while in love or when its time to sacrifice.

On the whole, U Me Aur Hum is a well-made, absorbing love story that is high on the emotional quotient. And that holds tremendous appeal for families mainly. U Me Aur Hum works because it’s aimed at the heart. Anyone who’s into relationships, anyone who believes in love, anyone who thinks from the heart, anyone who has watched his/her partner grapple a grave disease, will identify with a film like U Me Aur Hum.

None of other actresses manage to find a place close to Katrina when it comes to the polls voting for the sexiest woman.

Katrina Kaif has dumped her jeans and tee look for a more sexy style in her new movie “De Dana Dan.” The Bollywood beauty is definitely making a bold statement in the Priyadarshan directed comedy where she plays alongside Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty and Sameera Reddy. We are so used to seeing Katz wearing jeans and a tee that it is almost surprising to see her dancing in a sexy saree in the rain!

While is it safe to say that the cute actress definitely delivers in this new look, it must be even more surprising for Katrina’s boyfriend and B-town bad boy Salman Khan to see his leading lady taking the initiative to take her clothes off! He recently said in an interview that he likes his girl to be covered “from top to bottom.” Well we guess Katrina thought differently when accepting the role next to Akshay in “De Dana Dan!”

Real life couple in real life comes together in Dharma Production’s “Kurbaan,” releasing next week. Bollywood’s hottest and most admirable pair, Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor, thrilled the crowd at the PVR Premiere at Ambience Mall Gurgaon in NCR. The stunning duo was in town to promote Rensil De Silva’s directorial venture “Kurbaan,” introducing them in lead roles. During the press conference, which was well attended by the media, they answered all kind of media queries. When asked about the issuance of censor certificate ‘A’ to the film, the “Love Aaj Kal” actor was unfazed and said confidently, “It would not affect the popularity of the movie like in the case of “Race” which was a superhit.”

Describing the action thriller, the star couple said, “The movie has an adult theme and deserves the mature audience in many ways. “Kurbaan” is a love story with the backdrop of international terrorism.”
