…and they’re like “Tote bags save the world!  Damn right, they’re re-use-able.”

I’ve finally added my reusable tote bags to my Etsy shop.  Three of my favourites are up already.  I made a small collection of super hero and action adventure bags.  I made an ET tote, Dukes of Hazzard tote and an A Team tote.  I love all of them!

Have a look and let me know what you think!

Before Puces Pop and stopping off in Kingston, I had a lot more of these belt buckles!  Parting is such sweet - forget it, parting is just fine!  I’m hoping they all find happy new homes.

Here’s a peek at the newest buckles being added to my Etsy.

All Kinds of Resin Up in Here!

Yesterday I got my order of resin in from Currys.  I was so happy because it’s nearly impossible to find epoxy resin here in Peterborough.  Anyway, I got four packages that came out to be a half a gallon of the good stuff.  After last night I only have half of it left.  After tonight I will probably have none.  Is this an addiction?  What is resin doing to me?  It’s just WAY too much fun.

Anyway, here’s what my table looked like last night.  I’m just about to bust them out of their molds now.

I’ll share more when I have them all finished up!

Now for the Buckles

I’ve got some new belt buckles too!  These are especially fun to make because I get to add captions to vintage images.

It’s great to take these to shows and meet people that think they’re funny.  I always tell my husband I’m hillarious, but he doesn’t believe me.  At least craft shows give me a chance to meet people I agree with.

Check out my Etsy for more information on these buckles!

This One’s for the Babies…

Just finished up making my first baby quilt.  It’s so soft and cuddly and so darn cute.  If it wasn’t so hot I’d wrap up it right now.

I think I’ll put it as my main feature on my slot for Handmade Kids on Etsy.

Now in Red!

I just finished up my yellow and brown quilt last night and I’m just beginning to cut pieces for my next one.  I’m really digging my latest screen print design, so I’ll be integrating it into this newest piece.  The colour scheme for this one will be red and white (predominantly white with ultra cool red accents).

Anyway, here’s a sneak peek at my newest print in RED!

I finally got in some new belt buckle findings the other day.  That can only mean that I have some brand new rockin’ belt buckles.

You can check them out at my Etsy or go in person to Made 4 You in Kingston, Ontario.

Pink Loves Green

Here she is!  Finally!  My first completed quilt.  I love her and I’ll miss her.  She’s going to South Korea with someone else that I love and will miss…my stinky little CaraDee.

It’s totally machine pieced and quilted.  It took me five days of work on and off to complete it.  I made my own bias tape too (which I’m strangely proud of even though it’s extremely simple).

Hot Fruit

I’ve wanted to make soft toys for a long time now.  Months ago I bought a fabulous book called Softies.  Definitely one of the cuter books in my collection.  A while later I bought another book called Plush You.  That put the need for toys in overdrive.

I’ve played around with a few designs that I thought I’d like, but I was never super super pleased with the results.  Then I spent sometime with Photoshop and created a small cast of the worlds most awesomest fruit pack.  I call them Hot Fruit in homage to the notoriously funny show Strangers with Candy (please do not allow small children or your grandmother to watch this program).

Here’s your first chance to meet my newest friends….

I’ll be posting them on my Etsy soon enough.  They’re also being sold at Made 4 You in Kingston, Ontario.

I hope you like them as much as I do!

One Night With a Queen

In the newest issue of Craft there was a short and sweet tutorial for a beautiful yosegire quilt.  I’ve wanted to try quilting for a really long time but I’ve been pretty intimidated by the piecing aspect.  I think this type of quilting is the perfect way to overcome that fear.

Yesterday I hauled my two tubs of scrap fabric into the living room and starting cutting out long strips in all different lengths.  I decided that this would be a fairly light quilt top so I mainly used thrifted bed sheets.

I haven’t decided quite yet if I’ll use old flannelette sheets or actual quilt batting in the middle.  Because I’m not selling this one I could use something that is recycled.

All in all it took me about six hours to cut and sew the to together.  When finished it will fit on a queen sized bed.  Not bad for a first time if I do say so myself.  Here’s a sneak peek.
